Portscatho is a quaint coastal village on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, England. Portscatho village is situated around seven miles south-southeast of Truro and is within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The East-facing cove of Portscatho provides shelter from the prevailing south westerly winds and this was ideal as a base for the pilchard fleets of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Portscatho is still an active fishing port today, but on a much smaller scale now.
