Marazion town lies on the shore of Mount's Bay in Cornwall, just 2 miles east from Penzance. The world famous tidal island of St Michael's Mount is half a mile offshore. At low tide there is a causeway that links it to the town so you can actually walk out to it, and when the tide is high small passenger boats carry visitors out to St Michael's Mount where there is lots to see, a few gift shops and a lovely cafe to enjoy.
At the end of the Second World War a number of naval vessels were broken up on the beaches at Marazion. Marazion has become the thirteenth community in the UK to be accredited as a ‘Plastic Free Community’ by Surfers Against Sewage.
