The town of Seaview is a small Edwardian resort located on the north-eastern corner of the Isle of Wight and overlooking the Solent. The village is very popular with tourists who often visit the very popular Old Fort pub which is right on the sea front in a prime location.
During the summer the village hosts the Seaview Regatta, during which locals and tourists can take part in many traditional activities and there is a diving competition and a firework display at the end of the event each year.
In 1881 the Seaview suspension pier was completed which was 1000 feet long and 15 feet wide with four towers from which the pier deck was suspended. Unfortunately the lovely pier was destroyed in a storm in late December 1951.
