The Dart Estuary is the last stretch of the River Dart where its fresh waters meet and mix with the salt water from the sea. The Dart is mostly dominated by fresh water and when the conditions are just right it can reach as far out as Dartmouth Castle!
Often Seals, kingfishers and ospreys can be seen here and on rare occasions its even possible to catch a glimpse of seahorses, otters, dolphins or porpoises too. You can just make out the outline of St. Petrox Church on the right at the waters edge.
