The Sound has three water entrances. The marine entrance is from the English Channel to the south, with a deep-water channel to the west of the Plymouth Breakwater.
This live webcam shows the lighthouse and view out to sea, looking out from the Marine Biological Association (MBA) located on the cliff top.
The Hoe is adjacent to and above the low limestone cliffs that form the seafront and provides great views of Plymouth Sound, Drake's Island, and across the Hamoaze to Mount Edgecumbe in Cornwall.
