Porthmeor is a sandy and safe beach which is very popular with surfers and swimmers alike. Porthmeor beach is in an ideal location and just a stone’s throw from the centre of St Ives where you will find many old or even ancient pubs, lots of trendy cafes and lots of art galleries which the town of St. Ives has become quite famous for.
Porthmeor beach is dog-friendly from the first of October to the Sunday before Easter Day. For the remainder of the year, i.e. during the whole of the summer months there is a 24-hour ban on dogs on Porthmeor beach.
