Our high quality Power Over Ethernet (POE) Injectors are designed to operate with true POE cameras. These devices can power a POE camera on up to a 100 metre run of CAT5 or CAT6 cable. They works by injecting a high voltage component on to the cable which is then regulated to the correct level at the POE camera. The POE injecors can be used when you are using a POE camera but you dont have a POE router, or if you have a POE router with a low output that is not capable of running the camera over a long distance. The advantage of POE of course is that you dont need a separate cable for power or a power supply local to the camera as the camera is powered down the same network cable that carries the data back to the router.
To use our POE injectors you simply plug the power unit into the mains, then plug a patch lead from the router to the IN jack on the injector, then plug the camera cable into the OUT jack on the injector. Once the POE camera is plugged on to the cable the camera is now powered up and connceted to the router all on the one cable. Note you should ideally use CAT5 or CAT6 cable - here is why.
Note: You must only use our POE Injectors with a true POE camera and if you are making up your own CAT5 cables then you must ensure they are wired correctly or you may damage the camera or injector. Here is how to wire your CAT5 cable correctly.

Our IP range offers products suitable for those new to IP and the experienced installer. PoE injectors combine data and a DC Power source converting it to a PoE source. PoE power injectors are an ideal way to power PoE cameras linked to none PoE NVRs or switches. It is highly recommended to use high copper content CAT5-E or CAT6 cable when using POE devices rather than the lower cost copper coated aluminium cable.
