The cove is naturally sheltered by high cliffs and Lusty Glaze is a huge Cornish tourist attraction with 133 steps from the cliff top to the beach below and the beach is popular with surfers.
Lots of schools organise trips to Lusty Glaze and there is a Life saving centre there which is also a lot of fun and lifeguards patrol the beach during peak seasons.
A small car park is situated by the beach but parking in Newquay town centre is preferable in the summer months. Access to the beach can be gained from the steep cliff steps or via the neighbouring Tolcarne Beach, only at low tide and there is no disabled access to the beach.
