The Redcliffe Hotel which hosts this Paignton webcam boasts a 400 metre water frontage, at sea level with stunning views. The building itselfis totally unique. It was built by Colonel Robert Smith in 1856 as a private residence and he served with the Royal Bengal Engineers and styled his home with a distinct Indian theme.
Paignton is an area outstanding natural beauty, the area offers a wealth of attractions for all ages and is in the heart of the Torbay area known as the Englsih Riviera.
Paignton beach and Preston Sands which are not far from Paignton, are used for various water sports including kite surfing and sailing as well as all the normal beach activities.
There is plenty of public transport available including Paignton steam railway, and the station is situated close to the shops and just a short walk from the beach.
