Infra Red (IR) lighting is the way to achieve good quality CCTV pictures during darkness while avoiding the problems of using bright white light which could distract motorists or annoy your neighbours for example. Our Infrared Illuminators are all solid state LED.
Usually around the 840 / 850 nm wavelength the output from InfraRed lights is barely visible to the naked eye with just a faint glow being visible directly from the front of the lamp. To IR sensitive cameras however it is very bright and images as clear as in daylight can be achieved in what seems to be total darkness when using the correct combination of camera and Infra Red Lamp. Cameras that are IR sensitive switch to Monochrome (black and white) when its dark and then become highly sensitive to Infra Red Light.
