Get a webcam like this for your own website This live webcam has a lovely view across the Yacht moorings towards the breakwater and out to sea from the prestigious Brixham Yacht Club. The club was founded in 1937 and continues to grow as one of the premier clubs on the south coast of England. There is a lovely clubroom which is a converted sail-loft, and panoramic views from the Jubilee Room Restaurant include the bustling yet quaint, working harbour of Brixham and the beautiful waters and coastlines of Torbay and Lyme Bay too. If you are in to sailing then your really must make a visit here.
Between 1689 and 1815 there were a series of wars against France and during this period the Royal Navy regularly came into Brixham to take on board supplies of fresh vegetables, beef and water.

These would have been tall sailing ships bristling with cannon and warships have been seen in Torbay from the days of the Vikings, up until 1944 when part of the D-Day fleet sailed from here and in 1588, Brixham watched Sir Francis Drake depart to attack the approaching Spanish Armada.
