Hidden on a secret beach in the centre of Portreath adjacent to thehistoric harbour is the Waterfront Inn. With a Lounge Bar, a Beach Bar and a restaurant overlooking the harbour you can enjoy a lovely view while you are dining or just chillin out.
The village of Portreath extends along both sides of a stream valley and is centred around the harbour and beach which is very popular with holiday makers and tourists. This live webcam looks out over the harbour from the Waterfront Inn.
The name Portreath means "sandy cove" and in 1827 Portreath was described as Cornwall's most important port. In 1878 cholera broke out in the village causing the death of almost half the population.
