Brixham is hilly, and built around the harbour which is still in use as a dock for fishing trawlers. It has a focal tourist attraction which is the replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship the Golden Hind which is permanently moored there.
Brixham is at the far end of Torbay and is in the lee of Berry Head. This combined with the famous Brixham Breakwater ensures that Brixham is a sheltered port and a natural shelter. Brixham has its own Lifeboat too.
